Default Another Big Hand v Antonius 300/600 HU

I'm now 99% sure this was Antonius I was playing. I wouldn't have played with him had I known, but I did, so...

$74k effective $300/600 HU on FTP

I haven't 3bet very much so far because I thought he was a FTP Pro tourney fish who called every 3bet. He has been very tricky aggro, but hasn't made any big calldowns vs. me yet.

What is your plan on the turn. If your plan involves seeing a river, how do you react on a blank, club, Ten or board pairing river?

Patrik raises to $1800, I reraise T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] to $5400, Patrik calls.

Flop 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($10,800)

I bet $7200, Patrik calls.

Turn 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($25,200)

I ($62k behind) ... need a plan.

I saw this hand, so I'm biased. I'm very curious to see what the others say about it.

Bet how much? It's important.

What if he calls and river is a 9?

I would bet close to the pot here to try to chase him out. Its too often your up against a club and I dont think he'll neccessary go away with weaker hands. I bet 24k.

River being a 9 I would still push. He's now sort of committed to call with weak two pair hands (well one pair + board pair). Straight is still good here 90% of the time imo. A club is a much bigger problem. I check a club river, not sure if I call an all-in, nasty spot.

Ok, unbiased thoughts...from a terrible SSNL player.

I think 2/3-3/4 pot is correct. I think this is a spot, given how aggressively these games appear to play, that you really want to get the money in.

Another interesting question...if he just calls, what cards are going to force you to check-fold the river? Obv. clubs are nasty, but are you getting your stack in on a board-pairing river? What's your play if a club falls?

Also, jman, PM coming regarding this hand.

this sucks. because you havent been 3 betting pre flop much he's gotta put you on something. which means he's more likely to call the flop with a flush draw. I dont like a check so i think you gotta bet. On a blank/10/pair id shove unless hes betting river a high % of the time.
Edit- around 18- 20 id bet

If you check, what sorts of hands is he going to bet? If he'll take the check as weakness and bet a big range (some for value, some as bluffs/semibluffs) a good percentage of the time, a checkraise all-in is sexy. The (obvious) downside is if he takes a free card.

I don't think he's floating this flop because it's Ace high and I haven't 3bet much. So, I don't think he'll bluff too often when checked to because he should have some showdown value. He'll bet AQ+ prolly

This is not directly at you but can people stop saying this? If you saw the hand, great. But reminding everyone that you saw it somewhat add another level of thinking (or perhaps extraneous result-oriented affect).

Or maybe it's just me.
