Default a couple of 2/4 hands

everytime i feel like things are starting to click i'll go on a 5 buyin downswing. this is like the third time this has happened in the past two months. only time i ever make money is when i feel like im playing average to poor.

so here is my obligatory re-entry into the hand-posting community... any feedback is greatly appreciated.

#1 opponent is zngelday who seems like a semi-solid aggressive regular. dont know much else. he hasnt been at the table long but i dont recall us having any past history, other than i 3bet him a couple of hands earlier and folded to his flop c/r allin. for those too lazy to do the math i have $140 left on the river.

5 buy ins is nothing. Im at 8 after my comeback, and I've shrugged it off, it happens.

1) CHECK BEHIND THE TURN, WHY THE [censored] WOULD YOU BET THIS. Sorry, but sometimes you have to be blunt. This is a terrible bet.

2)easy river c/c for me unless he's a huge calling station.

3) pretty easy turn fold unless you know he gets outta line

4) Looks ok if you like variance and slight +EV

5) Hate it.

6) Not on this board.

Im not going to comment on every hand but there are def. some spots here that I think you need to work on pot control. You're building big pots 3 barreling pretty marginal hands.

Hand 1 i prefer a turn push. I think its definitely a bet of some sort though.

Hand 2: blah, I think I check this river most of the time.

Hand 3: Seems like a fold. I mean he has to think you're at least that strong and he crai anyway.

Hand 4: I hate these spots. When I was playing 5/10 this would feel like an instacall vs a lot of people but at 2/4 it seems like this is AA/KK most of the time and you're never way ahead. So I probably just fold it.

Hand 5: Unless hes one to 4 bet light just dump it. Doubt you have any fold equity here like ever.

Hand 6: Not a fan

Sorry, turn bet is terrible. Turn push is even worse.

The turn play for hands 1 & 3 is what sticks out to me. Check #1, fold #3. Not close.

Maybe im not remembering zngelday correctly but hes definitely the type of player to call this flop with some sort of low to mid pp with the intention of folding to a turn bet.

thanks for the responses so far. fwiw i always go on these downswings in a single day and im still not mentally comfortable with losing $2000 in a single day; it tends to phase my confidence quite a bit. i guess my definition of a unit of time in poker is much smaller than most peoples.

on hand 1, if i had been on the button and he in the co, does your answer change? also, any thoughts on betsizes? clearly i could have potted the flop and been comfortably allin by the turn if i wanted to be. i usually opt for making smaller bets like this in reraised pots.

also, seems like a turn push is kinda weird. what draws would a legitimate hand be protecting against? i think this particular player would have played a flush draw fast like always.

on hand 2, i guess i didn't put him on a draw based on his timing, and he was passive enough to where i didn't think he would bet a missed draw anyway. so i thought he would hardly ever bet this river but he still has a lot of hands that call me. aq, at, a9, maybe even a8 and worse.

can anyone elaborate on hand 6? does he call the raise w/ two pair?

1. I normally bet more on the flop here usually $90 to make it harder for them to call with something like 77-JJ

When he calls the flop give up on the turn and hope you hit an A or a club.

2. I normally check the turn or half pot it, betting the river is pretty bad you only have 1 pair.

3. check the turn, why build pots with weakish hands?

4. I dont squeeze much so i usually fold here

5. fold

6. lol those minibets are just very poor value bets/bluff inducing just fold

these posts are very hard to read/comment on. but we have played together a decent amount and you are generally overaggro for these stakes. people don't fold, so you are basically playing into their strengths rather than their weaknesses. that being said, once you get to the river with a bad ace high on that re-raised hand, you MUST push the rest in. If you lose to AKss or AQss you will kill yourself with good reason. And RunThisTable is a good MSNL regular.
