Default Tough spot with 2-pair on river 10NL 6max Stars

I've run into this situation twice this week. What hands do you put villain on? Am I ahead of anything here enough to call? Villain was 72/17 and very aggressive on the flop. I bet the flop expecting to take it down, and he called after a long pause, same on turn. I don't put him on an A or a J and picked up a straight draw on the turn.

I would put the Villain on the straight. He could easily call a PFR with K9 or K8. Think of all the hands that beat you and is it worth it to continue with lowest pair, with a straight and flush draw on the board. On the river, I would have checked and let him bluff the river if he missed. I would call up to a pot size bet.

(Am I playing to passively?)

Here's the other one that I couldn't put the guy on the hand that beat me. I called the flop bet because I had a read that he was betting with air a lot on the flop.

That was my intention after I took a stab at the pot, I didn't really like the flop, but I wanted to see if it hit him. He paused forever, and hadn't done that before, and my read was that he wasn't strong. I thought I could take it down then on the turn. And he had the same long pause before calling. By that point, I didn't think he had me beat. That's why I stayed in with just bottom pair.
