Villian is unknown to me and my HUD died again. Not sure stats would help this early. Scary thing is with the shorty all-in ppl usually play straight up. |

Re: $225 - anyway to avoid this crapola?
The shorty all-in becomes insignificant once you and the Villain build a side pot, but I can't give him 100% credit for knowing that. As is, that check-minraise is an annoyingly-large display of strength and I put him on exactly aces-up, fold, and then chat-berate him for the next ten minutes when he shows a worse ace.
Honestly, I just don't see how one pair is good at showdown there. He has at least aces-up almost always. Calling the turn raise is OK considering counterfeit outs you might have. |

Gotta isolate pf. As played I think you have to fold the river. The chance of him bluffing is close to 0, and I don't think he does this with a worse ace often. Strange line by him, but I think you have to respect it.

i would bet less on the flop just because of the allin guy. call the minraise and fold the river

I make a small reraise preflop. I call the river as played, only having to be good around 30% of the time. If he's beating you, he played his hand oddly.

reraise PF of course. Calling turn is ok but you are already likely to be in some trouble, people almost never [censored] around like that when someone is allin. The river is a clear fold IMO.

Yeah, should have RRed. I'm pretty sure I didn't notice shorty was all in. 12-tabling casualty I maybe should be worried about, but really how often does UTG have exactly 60? I notice anything else.

Re: $225 - anyway to avoid this crapola?
Ya lol this hand sucks. It would be nice to know how bb doubled up in case it was something really stupid, but readless I think call turn fold riv seems good. The check/minraise is so ridiculous I can't see him doing it with anything you beat, but you're getting too good a price to fold. As slim mentioned you have some good counterfeit outs vs. two pair and he might show up with Ax of hearts or some random straight draw some % of the time. What worries me is that the same guy who is check/minraising this turn is the same guy that will fire the riv with worse aces and busted draws, and the thought of calling not only the turn raise but also the probable river bet is really unappealing. Maybe that's best though? Nasty hand.
BTW, why didn't you raise preflop? |
