Early Tournament Strategy?

In the early stages in a tournament is it a good strategy to call PF with a wide range of hands hoping to hit a big flop? or isit better to conserve your chips for when your a big favourite and avoid dangerous situations.

I play on UB on low limit MTT's, so getting payed off when i hit a big hand isnt too much of an issue.

I'd like to hear you EXPERT opinons.

I'm no expert, but save your chips and wait for some premium hands. If you play a wide range and miss flops and dump chips, what are you going to have left when the blinds start getting higher and higher?

By all means, do what works best for you, but in my newbie experience, playing tight and waiting for the better hands is the way to go. After the blinds start going up, start to loosen up and play a wider range of hands.

So you think that u shouldnt play low suited conectors like 67s for their implied odds? or just semi-conductors like 57 unsuited? In any stage fo the tourney, unless stealing from button or summit, and if you say it may be suitable to play at times, for mixing your play purposes, what is the optimal M for these marginal hands

In position, if there are a lot of chips in the pot, sure.

(From your edit, I see that you probably have 'em, or are at least familiar with most of the concepts.)

There isn't an absolute though. If you see that your table is passive and you can see a lot of flops cheaply, then go ahead and look at more than usual. Just don't go nuts chasing things without the proper odds to do so.

Yeah, sure you can limp with semi-good holdings if there has been some limpers before you and it will probably become an unraised multiway pot. But do it with hands that have potention for something really strong, like 33, 67s, 79s, TJ, etc., and not with hands like K4, A2 and T5.

get as many chips as you can, any spot thats +EV to pickup chips take it.

Don't overestimate implied odds. Just because the other player has 100BB's and it's only 10 to call doesn't mean you should because we will need to take his entire stack EVERY TIME WE HIT HARD, which is -EV. Personally I like a straightforward positionally aware TAG for the first hour of micro MTT's and start opening up once antes kick in.

It also depends on if you are playing a standard 1500 chip structure or a double stack with 2500 or 3000. I find that even in the early levels of the standard 1500 chip structure when you have 50-75 Big Blinds, you implied odds aren't there and playing speculative hands is unprofitable.
