They changed things up with the VIP points. I guess instead of it being rake based it is now based on the size of the pot. This is from their website...

[ QUOTE ]
2) How do I earn VIP Status Points?
While playing Poker, for every 40¢ in the final pot, 0.1 VIP points are awarded and distributed among those players that have contributed to the pot. The distribution of points to players is based on their percentage contributions to the pot.

While playing Blackjack you will receive 0.1 VIP points for every $15 wagered.

3) Can I earn VIP Status Points for tournament participation?
Yes, for each 40¢ of buy-in, 0.1 VIPs are awarded (1 point for every $4 of the buy in).

Well that pretty much sucks.

For ring games, they've gone from a dealt system to a contributed system, which means tight players aren't going to get anywhere near as many points as they used to. Hell, no one is going to get anywhere near as many points as they used to. A $10 pot used to generate 10 points (1 per player). Now a $10 pot generates a total of 2.5 points, with those points only going to players that contributed to the pot. A 75% reduction.

For tournaments, they've also cut the number of VIP points awarded by 75%. You used to get 4 points per $1 of fees rather than the 1 per $4 they're offering now.

Is this just for Reward/VIP points or do these new rules apply for bonus clearing as well?

Nope - bonus rules are still the same. Just harder to get/maintain VIP status.

which SUCKS...you get a freeroll into their 100k once a month as an Elite plus I was earning about $700 per month in rewards points. Elite is going to be difficult now unless you play high stakes.

Looks like mid-high players will be getting more, since there doesn't seem to be a cap. Not that a change like this is going to attract them to Absolute. But you could hit the highest VIP levels pretty easily by playing 25/50 HU.

Not really. I don't know what the rake is like for limit, but the max points you can earn on a NL hand now is .75.

Yes . . . you stop accumulating points when the pot reaches $60 for NL. That works out to a maximum of 15 points for the table divided according to contribution.
