WTF Sirius (Howard 100) has commercials?
I am listening to Howard replay now and there are more commercials than normail radio. It has been like 7 minutes of straight commercials.
Thought the main point of Sirius is no commercials? |

Re: WTF Sirius (Howard 100) has commercials?
There are not that many commercials. And during alot of the breaks it's just old bits, songs, and phone calls that are pretty decent to listen to. There is no way that they could do a 6 hour show taking no breaks for themselves. They are going to have to eat somethign, and go to the bathroom sometimes.

Sirius music channels = commerical free. Sports & Entertainment will have commercials. I've noticed that Howard's commercial breaks seem longer on Sirius, but it seems like there are less of them. Maybe that's just me though...

Re: WTF Sirius (Howard 100) has commercials?
I was a stern fan for over 6 years (since senior year in HS)
I would gladly listen to commercials on free-fm b/c I knew that's what they needed to make money now that I was paying $140 for a year, I don't understand why they need commericials. Feel free to play a song or two so you can eat or piss but seriously, the commercials are too much and he is a misleading little prick b/c he never mentioned that when he was on krock so, I stuck with it for a year and realized he is old, his material is old, and the show isn't funny anymore without a common enemy |

I've posted in the past about how much I loved the show and I think it was just my loyalty speaking. The show to me just became so boring that I was hardly listening anymore. [censored] shame though. |

Re: WTF Sirius (Howard 100) has commercials?
Wow...you guys are totally bashing Stern. I have been a listener since 1992 and I think the show is much funnier now than it was on normal radio. The commercials are certainly fewer than on krock. They gave the stat on how many minutes of progamming versus commercials on krock and sirius and it wasn't even close. I don't know how someone could honestly say there are more commercials now.
anyway, BABA-BOOEY TO Y'ALL. |

[/ QUOTE ] its just you the commercial breaks are much shorter and further between now free radio the comercial breaks were at least 10 minutes long and it seemed they came evey 20 minutes or so. sirius is about 4-5 minutes about every hourish give or take a few minutes (depends on whats going on. ive listened to very long stretches of no commercials, and sometimes 30-40 minutes betwen commercials) i wish they would get rid of the news updates with lisa g and john h and steve though. let penny come in every now and then though. shes a fruitcake. |

Re: WTF Sirius (Howard 100) has commercials?
Yup, Stern has commericals.
The music channels don't. I can't say Ive been a long time Stern listener, but I really dig his show, and it seems like he goes on for 1 hour or so, and then does like a 5 minute break. I've got no problems with it. I frigging love having the Sirius radio, though. I listen all day and alot at night, and a ton on the weekend. I don't get the greatest recption on the work drive, which is a bummer, but the problem is infrequent static, etc., which I can live with. No problems at work or home. I can't say how nice it is to have non-stop decent radio vs. crappy commerical radio playing the same 3 songs for 3 months with 5 minutes of commericals between each song. |
