Default Moving back east...how do I get my plasma there?

I just called a few shipping places, and every place recommended against shipping the plasma because they dont offer insurance. I'm a little ticked off, and I don't know how to get it back east.

I'm only going back east for 6 months so technically I can leave my TV in storage in Vegas, but I'd prefer to be able to use the tv that I bought. It's a 42 inch plasma flatscreen. Has anyone ever transported a plasma long distance? What are some options?

U-Haul? Do you have other stuff such as furniture that needs to be moved?

Instead of storage, do you have a trustworthy friend who can just keep it at his place and then you can just pick up after the 6 months?

Uhauls out...it would cost 1500 to do it. I do have a good friend who can take care of it...just irritating that it costs so much to move.

I seriously imagined you keeping a supply of blood in the local hospital in case you got stabbed or in a wreck or something.

If I was your friend in LV, and had a couple days to kill, I'd drive it for a couple hundred, plus expenses. But this is probably your best case scenario. Shipping is mad expensive for something that big, and since it's not permanent, leaving it with a lucky friend/family member for 6 months seems like the best way to go.

Pretty sure for whatever you would pay to ship the TV you could buy a decent TV (not plasma obv) out east.

Keep in mind that you're going to want to ship it BACK. How much does a 42" plasma cost? pretty sure you'll pay at least 25% of that in shipping. Plus insurance...
