AK in PFRR pot vs. bad villian
This is another of my experimental hands where I check after a PFRR, here to balance out when I do it with something like KK/QQ.
Reads: Villian is pretty bad (50/15 over 460). We have not tangled too much strangely enough. Because of his VPIP, he is one of the more common callers of my PFR, but he mostly folds to my CBs. Watching him against other players, he has been pretty eager to stack off with top pair, but basically folds everything else. There have been two hands though that bear similar relation to this one. On the first, he lead 1/2 PSB into my PFR, I reraised w/the QQ on Kxx, he called and then 2/3 donk on the turn that I folded to. The second hand was similar, but there he used a stop-on-go to my TPDK (QJ) on Q654 that I folded to on the turn. Re: AK in PFRR pot vs. bad villian
Well, don't fold. I don't like the flop check either. Two opponents, flush draw, a Q on board, just bet.

Re: AK in PFRR pot vs. bad villian
Given that this is threeway, I think betting the flop is mandatory. As played, river is probably a call, but definitely don't expect to win every time.

[/ QUOTE ] He said he was checking partially to balance his checks with underpairs. Now he has fewer whiffed underpairs. In addition, any two broadway cards now have 4-5 outs. on a drier board like A83, they'd be drawing dead. |

Re: AK in PFRR pot vs. bad villian
Two Things.
1) Nice stack at $100NL? Move up soon. 2) Bet flop. As played. Call river. FPS IS BAD. |

Re: AK in PFRR pot vs. bad villian
Thats actually another point. I have been in a couple of reraise pots, but they ended to CBs, so I doubt anyone is noticing the balance. Given how rarely reraise pots happen, and the even larger rarity of reraise pots with A's, is it worth bothering with this if you likely won't even meet villian again.

Re: AK in PFRR pot vs. bad villian
Two opponents + fd + broadway gutshots = bet the flop
Against one opponent I don't hate a flop check but there's no need to "balance" your play by checking when you're against two possibly drawing opponents. As played I call because he's been running over you and you have top two. He could be on KQ/AQ/A7/missed fd to make a call profitable. But yeah against calling stations just bet the flop |
