Default this ship has sailed~!

I have a confession to make and its not pretty. First Im going to describe my poker journey from being a loser to staying a lose even though I have the tools and knowledge to beat the game.

I started playing around summertime last year when I saw some random wsop with mr farzad and monaymaker playing headsup. I thought what a cool game and started playing monopoly money on stars. Hell I killed the stts there so I decided its time. Time to lose all my hard earned money that is!

I get excited and put in a feeler deposit around 50$ using western union. I played the stts andwould do quite well. Tripling my br yet I still dont know br at the time. I make 350$+, its time to move up BABY! I start playing turbo 15 playing quite even. At this point in time I tought great Im so good I can probably beat everyone!

With no concept of BR strategy and hand rankings, I still kept winning and was amazed by it. I would sometimes play full ring cash 25 cents and do really bad but still my tiny bankroll intact but my ego CRUSHED!

All summer I would play all day everyday, before and after work! Sometimes ignoring my little daughter. This went on for about 6 months but all this time I would redeposit 100 at a time.

EYES WIDE OPEN(jan 2006)

I start realizing how bad I play fortunately enough I come across 2+2 while doing some random search on how to cheat at poker. I started adhering to br strat magement for about 1-2 weeks, make 4-7buyins every 1k hands. Get bored move up lose evrything rinse repeat. Kept doin it and I just lost my 500$ deposited roll(turned into 800) when I took shots at 200nl.

I realized I til my money very easy. This was the catalyst of my last debacle

200nl

Hero 227$ in button
sb 200
villain 190 in bb
player 4 350
player 5 40$

Fold to hero with AQ of clubs

Hero raises to 7( standard table raising)
sb folds
Villain thinks and calls

Flop..As 3s 8h
hero bets 2/3 pot(9dollars)
villain calls

turn... brings something like Q or J I cant remember
I protect my hand I bet another 2/3 22ish
VIllain calls.

river 9 no flush maybe straght
he quickly leads about pot size.
I think a little and quickly calls

Villain shows A9
HYACHACHACHACHA

At that point there was no stoping the tilt train being driven by the one they call tilt monkey. I dont need to further tell you wat happened to the rest of my money as it is very clear where it went, DOWN THE DRAIN!

REALIZATION

I might be a winning player when not tilting but I can never consider myself a winner when Im clearly losing monies. I dont give a rats ass if I win when Im playin good, I just wanna be able to control myself of tilt. Therefore, I have come to realize that I am not a winning player and maybe WILL NEVER EVER BE A WINNING PLAYER. I say this because I know what to do to build a bankroll yet I still keep doing things only a fish would do.

I doubt I will be depositing anymore money into this pit they call poker!

ONE LESS FISH FOR U GUYS TO CHEW ON!

ADIOS!

Ignoring your little daughter because of POKER is really SAD.
Your confession is complete.
Go and sin no more.
Your sins are forgiven.

You were confessing to ?!?
Being a bad gambler??
Dosen't look like it.
Looks like bad luck.

Being tiltable?
Don't need to confess that.
Most people are.
Work on it. Fix it.

Being an addicted gambolah?
If this is your "im going cold turkey" post,
then good luck.

clearly you're not disciplined enough to exercise proper bankroll management, which is one of the biggest things for a poker player that wants to be a long term winner.

a $500 bankroll should have been plenty for micros, and to climb steadily, yet you played $1/2 and blew it. You're not patient enough and it seems like you must think when you play super small stakes that you're playing for peanuts, which you are. But it's important not to have that mindset and you can beat micro games easily.

Best decision you could have made. Enjoy your time with your daughter, you won't get that time back, an you sure won't regret it.
Regards,
Carl
