Default baby pairs

villain has thus far been very loose and very passive. looks to be a true-blue calling station.

the blinds are playing tournaments so they aren't paying that good of attention. my response has been to steal the [censored] out of their blinds from CO and BT.

UB Limit Hold 'em
$.5/$1 6 max (6 handed)

Chun Li is CO with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Pre-flop:
two folds, Chun Li raises, BT calls, two folds

(5.5 small bets)

Flop:
J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Chun Li bets, BT calls

(3.75 bets)

Turn:
J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Chun Li bets, BT calls

(5.75 bets)

River:
T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Chun Li bets

*****

slow down, anywhere?

River is one of those situations where all your options suck. Becuz this guy is loose passive, the best play IMO is to bet/fold becuz check/calling him is probably burning money. Another option is to check/fold, but I still think theres enough value in your hand to make bet/folding significantly better than check/folding. This guy will still call you with Ace-high, and he can have a hand like A3 or 22 or K3s.

ILP929,

don't worry, i realize this is a bet/fold and i agree it beats the hell out of check/fold which beats the hell out of check/call.

thanks,

scary_tiger,

what is the purpose of your post? to point out that my post has no purpose?

1. this could spin right the [censored] out of control

2. i'm obv just trying to boost my post-count so people will take me seriously! duh!

um. if i start a thread, i kind of feel like i should be able to respond to responses as i choose (so long as it meets the forum requirements) and if i'm not calling you out or something, i'm not really sure why you care???

in case you actually, do, i'll tell you the real purpose. i've been struggling with the concepts behind bet/fold lately which is why i posted the hand (as well as lots of annoying questions regarding other players' hands). i was pleased that ILP, who recently ordered me to "learn how to play poker" seems to think i correctly applied the idea.

thanks, though, i think.
