Lets talk about horror movies

Some of the recent films I liked very much: The Grudge, the Korean film A Tale of Two Sisters, 28 Days Later, and Hostel, Wrong Turn, Jeepers Creepers. I dont care for sado-machoism, and scenes where people are getting tortured. However, I do like alot of gore, and funny/original ways for people to get killed.

I am just curious what are some of your favorite horror movies and what do you like/dislike about horror movies?

I like a lot of older ones, the whole Halloween series (except for 3) is worth watching. I'm surprised you liked Jeepers Creepers, that was definitely one of my least favorite movies that I've ever seen.

personally im not to into the overhyped hollywood horror flicks, i personally think the more b-rate ones are better, i personally loved to movie slither that recently came out, and im a huge fan of all evil dead movies....also like most zombie movies, undead was a great one...lets see hostel was pretty cool but not really all that big of a deal......

anyone ever see killer clowns from outer space?

have you seen any old italian horrorfilms by say, fulci or argento? Suspiria is my favorite horror film of all time.

If you like funny, and you like gore...

Halloween has long been my favorite. Easily the most imitated horror film of all time.


"High Tension" was surprisingly awesome. Don't go in expecting much, and you will be blown away (I may have precluded this by mentioning it though). Bonus points if you like over-the-top gore.

CIncyHR ive seen a few argento films, suspiria is great...i also enjoy the more mystery films like bird with the crystal plumage I saw a few others by him but cant remember the names

The most recent decent horror movie made that I've seen is the British movie 'The Descent'. Was this even given a theatrical release in the US?
