Default Singapore law???

Hello - does anyone know what the law is in Singapore? Is gambling legal/illegal there? What about online poker - I will be going there next year and want to make sure I cannot get in trouble for playing fulltilt or pokerstars or partypoker while in Singapore - thanks a lot.

As I recall there was an American citizen who defaced property with a small amount of graffiti and they were going to give him a public caning until diplomats intervened. Singapore is very strict, you cannot even chew gum there unless you have a medical prescription.

Not that this has anything to do with online gambling. I did hear that they are going to open a casino in Singapore, and they did allow Betfair to run a poker tournament there recently.

If I was to play online there I might consider using a proxy server.

Last time I was there I used the hotel LAN (expensive!) and my laptop to play at party. During a few hours of my play no police SWAT team appeared at my door with silenced machine guns.
