Default Help on creating poker table..

I've recently obtained a nice, large, round table for my homegame, and i want to modify the top (it's a lunch table stolen from my colleges dining hall..so it has a hard plastic surface) with either felt or something similar, because this table is only used for poker games. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what kind of material to use, where to obtain it, and how to install it onto the table... any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again

www.homepokertourney.com

lots of table stuff on this site for building and all. if you are willing to work on it check out build a table on this site, and build a topper, and bolt it to the cafeteria table. i built my own table for about $275, including all the hardware, etc.

if you want to go cheaper, get some foam and pool table felt, and just upholster the table. should be able to do this for $50 or so someone used to sell padded foam tablecloth type things on ebay, that were cheap also. never played on one, but that could work too.

Def check out the site mentioned above. There are some links to forums where you can find anything you'll ever need on there.

And you can definitely build one for cheaper than 275. i built 2 racetracks for that amount. Just be very very conservative and economical with your materials (ie using 3 sheets of plywood for 2 tables.)

i guess it helps to have a general contractor/carpenter guy as an uncle...

Mods can we sticky the how to build a poker table thread, or post some links to sites that tell you how to build them. I hate seeing a thread on this every week
