Default stupid question: flat tire

One of my cars has a flat tire. It's in my driveway. I imagine it was a slow leak.

I'm too lazy to jack up the car and remove the tire. I'd rather inflate it, and hope it holds the air long enough for me to make it to the tire repair shop.

All I've got is a bicycle pump. Will that work? Or will that be tougher than jacking up the car and removing the tire?

(I thought I had towing insurance and roadside assistance, but it turns out that only one of my two cars has that coverage. Guess which car has the flat?)

This stuff should hold until you can get your tire fixed.
Trying to re-pump it with a simple bicycle pump will take alot of time and effort, and half the time you won't know if the thing is even hooked up properly as you'll be making no obvious progress.

It'll work...and be tougher than jacking/removing.

Laziest way out is using a can of fix-a-flat.

I thought tire repair shops wouldn't repair tires with fix-a-flat stuff in them -

something about the stuff being explosive -

I used that spray stuff for a flat I had on the motorway.

It worked great (got me over 100 miles) but the tire dude said they can't fix a tire thats had that stuff sprayed into it.

[/ QUOTE ]Fix-a-flat used to use flammable gas, but not any more.

From the link:
[ QUOTE ]
Faced with tougher competition and after numerous lawsuits, Fix-A-Flat finally changed their ingredients and stopped using the explosive mixture. Fix-A-Flat continues to this day to only sell the non-flammable cans of Fix-A-Flat.
