Friday Afternoon = Meat and Beer (pics)
Early this morning, long before dawn, my roommates and I stoked a fire. We were preparing a brisket and turkey to be smoked.
This is the turkey, before I brined it:  The turkey was put into a vat of salt water to soak overnight so it would be juicier when we slapped it on the grill. The brisket had a dry rub put on it as well as a slop sauce made with beer, onions, garlic, and worchestershire, among other things. The turkey was rubbed with herbs and basted with olive oil for smoking. Here is our smoker pictured in my fine yard (now 100% flea free):  Things are going well and the brisket should be done in a couple hours. This one's a monster so it's going a little slow. I don't have a picture of the current brisket but here's a finish version of the last one we did:  Unfortunately smoking a brisket isn't all fun and games. Sometimes things go wrong, sometimes people get hurt. My wife, pictured below, was injured by the smoker slamming shut on her:

Brisket looks tasty - perhaps you should cross-post in Iron Chef Minor League thread? -Al Edit - yeah, that pic does appear to be the hand of a man.
