Default The strategy diference between NL & LIMIT 2-7 TD

You tell me...

Only thing I can guess so far is you should play only to clean 7's more often, and fold some of the tougher 1 card draws such as 2478 more often. And yes, I don't enjoy PL or NL TD but that shouldn't matter for the purposes of this thread.

Position is like a bazillion times more important in the big bet game. I'm tempted to experiment with playing much looser on the button, except I also much prefer playing limit. Triple draw shouldn't be slow.

I suck at this so far but it sure looks like your odds to draw on the second draw aren't there most of the time.

Position is more important, fer sure.

Mainly, it seems that since you can bet people off draws like you can't in limit, weaker made hands that get there first are better than stronger draws that take awhile. One guy kept drawing 1 or standing pat after first draw with weak 9's or T's and my 247 draws often wouldn't hit, or if you get a 2478x and face a big bet its hard to make correct decision.

Of course, another guy kept going all-in preflop and then drawing 3, so maybe all you need is luck, since he won something like 7 of 8 hands.

Times like this make me wish I was Asian. Can I be you in my next life Chris?

Side story that makes me look foolish - I'm playing Chinese Poker with a bunch of friends and this stylish young guy who I have never met before. I turn to BustoBusto and say "So where is Chris? I thought he was coming this weekend". Duh. I felt like such an idiot, I think you can guess who the mystery guy is... and its not like I have never met him before either. Quick alalysis of the game after playing 1 hour today (first time ever playing) of $0.50/$1 Limit....

1) People are idiots
2) I'm running hot early (40 big bets in 1 hour)
3) This game is easy

I play razz quite regularly and this game fit my thought process easy. Sice people are learning to play razz better I guess its time to switch for a while. Still have to pick-up SS2 though.

I dabbled with the NL on Stars the other day. Theoretically, the game has the same problem as the HPL Badugi on Tribeca -- it's a race to see who can get pat first. However, since the players don't play correctly, the game is profitable anyhow for now. I much prefer limit for both badugi and TD.
