Horrible Fancy Play Syndrome
No pokerace or pt stats. Only that MP has been pretty loose and passive. It's been around 3 orbits.
PokerStars 3/6 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver) Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, J. Hero raises</font>, MP 3-bets</font>, 2 folds</font>, BB calls, Hero calls. Flop: (9.33 SB) 9, T, 5 (3 players)</font> BB bets</font>, Hero calls, MP raises</font>, BB calls, Hero calls. ***I was thinking of raising BB's flop bet to clean my outs. Is raising here bad? Turn: (7.66 BB) 6 (3 players)</font> BB checks, Hero checks, MP bets</font>, BB calls, Hero raises</font> .... Don't know what I was thinking. How often will this c/r cause a better hand to fold since I'm showing strength vs two opponents? Yeah I know I played this hand loopy. Do I have any logic in my thinking this hand? Thanks, Bien |

Seems pretty irrelevent since you still lose after folding out a better hand. |

Re: Horrible Fancy Play Syndrome
i can't think of a better hand that MP can have that will fold here. even 88 and 77 picked up a gutshot and will call. not a good time for this move imo

Re: Horrible Fancy Play Syndrome
Either raise or fold the flop donk, calling seems by far the worst option.
Edit: MP folding AK here would be pretty neat. |

My post recommended raising or folding the flop when the other player donked into the PFR with us in between. I do think a loose passive player might fold AK to this raise. |

Re: Horrible Fancy Play Syndrome
I would raise the flop. You could fold a better hand here.
It's hard to think of a hand c/r-ing the turn would get both players to let go by the end. |

[/ QUOTE ] ah, i misunderstood. you meant he folds AK on flop, which is probably and true and maybe a good reason to raise. i thought you meant once he gets to the turn he should pull this c/r |

Re: Horrible Fancy Play Syndrome
Fold the turn. The turn raise is terrible and you are almost never folding out a better hand. BB and MP are going to call your turn raise becuase they both put in a bet on the turn which means you have to c-bet the river no matter what card falls for this to work. You gaurantee at least MP is seeing the river and any loose-passive player who 3-bet PF is calling one more on the river and if BB has a PP or any piece of the board, he's calling too.

Fold the turn. [/ QUOTE ] Are you sure? Folding this turn is bad advice, I assume you missed the 4 outs to the nuts. Getting 9.66:1 closing the action HERO only needs to pick up 0.84 BB on average when spiking a Q. This is even disregarding possible overcard outs - which obviously are very dirty. About the turn raise beeing bad you are spot on imho. |
