Default Players who are good but go on tilt

In several different books, one that comes immediately to mind is Ciaffone's "Improve Your Poker" the writer talks of a type of player who is a strong player whose only weakness is that they go on tilt after suffering a few bad beats.

Over the last year I've logged about 23,000 hands online and I have logged 36,000 hands over the last two years. I have yet to see an example of this type of player at the tables. The only type of bad player I commonly see is the extreme LAG and the much rarer LP player.

Does this type of player actually exist online? In my experience good players seem to play well at all times. I've yet to see a good player donk off a lot of money to me because of a few bad beats. I play mainly LHE. Is this something that happens more often in no-limit games? These people sound like good opponents to have if they are actually out there.

I'm sure I haven't seen this type of player in limit holdem games, are they more common at PL/NL games? My experience is that if someone's PAHUD stats are similar to mine that they always seem to play well.

Sample Size, really. I have seen many people with decent stats who suck postflop for one, as well as ones who tilt easily for another, even if they are normally solid players.

If you play live, then it's easy to spot countless players tilting . . .

When I play NL. But normally after the bad beat (or in some cases bad play) I don't reload too much money. If I lose a big hand and have $40 or so left, I'll occassionaly start playing like it's a tourney and push all in when I otherwise wouldn't. But I guess that's a somewhat standard short stack play in ring games too.

If you're multitabling and relying on stats, you may not be as aware of it.

I've played with a few people that do this.

i've tilted off plenty of times online, i admit it. its much more rare that i do it now because i have finally learned to accept it and as long as i got my money in ahead then thats all i can do.

If you only play a single table then you are sure to see players tilting. I do and it's not always me.
