Default 98s different line

Villan seems aggro. This is still early in the session, but he has squeezed me on my first raise and he has called a few raises both in and out of position. He seems relatively aggro. I have not had a chance to look at his postflop play much. I think he ran like 30/20/3. Not positive though. Hero is relatively TAG and quiet.

This seems decent, particularly if you haven't been particularly aggressive with your draws. What's your plan if you get floated here? I think checking the river against an aggro player is going to get you bet off your hand, unless you, too, want to start getting into the calling with weak 8's business.

IF you are going to do this, why not just c/r flop?

Does this fall under the category of bluffing to stop a bluff? If so, why not? Looks good to me. I'd be interested to hear what your plan for the hand was in general after c/c the flop.

The risk reward seems much better this way. And there's a decent chance the aggressive player checks behind on that particular card.

seems pretty standard.

Out of curiosity what line were you planning on using on a blank. check-fold? or lead turn?

c/r looks much stronger than c/c lead turn I think.
