i have two cards, therefore I call
The comedic effect is worth playing a $20 buy in NLHE game.
It's funny for lots of reasons. Guys show up wanting to take the money, and they bring their sunglasses. None of them have ever played poker seriously, but most of them think they're serious poker players. I just dont know how to respond when someone raises me $3.00 Naturally, anytime someone raised, I called. I was either going to destroy the game and buy a new tee shirt, or I was going to donate to the greater cause that is poker. .25/.25 blinds (ballah) I limp utg with two cards (expert play) someone raised on the button BB goes all-in for $5.50 I call Button raises all-in for $20 or so I call We do it TV style and turn our hands faceup, we all standup and the two douche bags who are allin shake eachothers hands, and wish eachother luck, one of them holding JJ and the other holding Grimstarr, a.k.a. AQ Then I turn over my hand. I've got two cards. Therefore I am at least fifty-fifty. I got 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I am now a 3-2 favorite, because I am suited. FLOP A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] a bunch of excitement from the other two players.....i remain calm, knowing it's coming some runner runner combination. Turn 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Bingo. I'm now an 11-1 favorite to suckout. River 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Ship it Holla! at one point I had 800 BB's in front of me. so I started playing metagame deepstack pokah' i.e., opening for 100 BB's from the button, everytime Here's a little gem: some one limps in EP on my button (hmmm? aces or kings?) I make the standard raise, folds back to the limper, who exclaims "Gotcha! Aces!" Me: "You're an underdog, see, because I have two cards" (then genious struck me, and I versed some true BBV wisdom on his ass) me: "I have Q-3, therefore I have six outs. You only have two outs, and I am suited, so that adds nine more outs. I'm a 6-1 favorite" him: (thinks i'm serious, starts arguing) Flop three random cards turn my first runner river you know that [censored] Word. Needless to say I think the kid w/ aces was crushed. He looked like I looked when I lost 7K playing blackjack the first time I ever played. He said something about making a mockery out of the game, i'm just gambling, blah blah blah. So what did I do? In true Ballah BBV style, (we had cash on the table) I took a $20 bill....and....drumroll, please. Lit it on fire. Holla. |

Re: i have two cards, therefore I call
the overcards having 6 outs vs a pocket pair only having 2 never gets old, i havent said that one time where someone knew i was joking, they get really pissed about it usually. good job getting your money in as a 3 to 1 dog, fish!!!

I forgot about the 6-2 outs theorem. No wonder I'm down. Fundamentals, Fundamentals, Fundamentals.
