Anyone had hydrocolonic therapy?
I'm not down with having something SIMP, but I may be less down with carrying around 10-20 pounds of crud in my colon. Anyone tried this willing to post a trip report?

Is this just a fancy name for an enema?

Re: Anyone had hydrocolonic therapy?
My dad's friend described the procedure and then ended his story with "[censored] (gays) are the toughest men on this planet"
Edit: The male nurse didn't have the right setting, so it was extremely painful. A female nurse came in and said "Wow, no wonder it hurts..." and turned a dial, pain vanished. Male nurse comes back in and says to be sure to hold in the liquids until I'm finished, dad's friend said "[censored] you" in a non-verbal way. |

I've got a better idea. Buy about a gallon of prune juice. Drink it. Poop. Then, take the savings and go enjoy your life.

Over-Rated
I have always been fascinated with alternative medicine and I heard that colonics were suppose to be a miracle treatment. I went to the internet and saw pictures of supposed crud that was removed from people's colons. I bought the hype and I did about 10 sessions.
Personally, I think it is overhyped. They fill you up with water to the point where you feel bloated and uncomfortable. Then you purge the water expeling all the debris in your colon. Perhaps others have experience miracles with this treatment but not me. Looking back I think it was a waste of money. About two years later I had a colonoscopy and my colon was clean as a whistle... BTW Princess Diana was supposedly a big proponent of colonics. I don't see why... |

Re: Anyone had hydrocolonic therapy?
There is no particular reason for most people to need to cleanse their colon. If you want to do so, a comolonscopy prep will do it quite well.
You simply don't have 10-20 pounds of crud in your colon. Mucoid plaques don't exist; just more alt med idiocy. |

Re: Anyone had hydrocolonic therapy?
Prety much spot on, although you can do the same thing with a bottle of Mg Citrate and not have to drink all that prune juice.
The myth of 10+ pounds of colon crud is harder to kill than Osama....why the hell people believe this stuff, I have no idea. Wait until you're 65 or so to start obsessing about your bowel movements - it'll pass those slow days away.... MM MD |
