NL 25 - QQ preflop question
Don't have the hand converter handy, so cut me some slack here.
Hero is in the BB sitting on $46 and QQ. UTG raises to $1 - he's just joined the table, so no reads. Three callers, which is not suprising, as table has been playing very loose pre-flop. Hero re-raises to $6. UTG thinks for almost his whole time bank and pushes for another $23. Fold. Fold. Fold. Back to Hero. Fold? Call? Why? Comments on preflop action - should Hero have just called his bet? Re-raise too large? Too small? Any comments would be helpful here. Thanks in advance, and have a nice day. |

Re: NL 25 - QQ preflop question
reraise is fine. Fold to the push.
UTG raise + all-in reraise = AA, KK, or Ak do you really think he has JJ or AQ? |

Re: NL 25 - QQ preflop question
Folding seems to be the right decision here.
Your reraise has the right size, with four other people in the pot. You normally don't want to play queens against 4 opponents. Good fold imo. |

Re: NL 25 - QQ preflop question
I like the reraise to $6, but maybe I've been playing too much pot limit lately. I think you should fold without a read when he pushes (I usually assume AA-QQ,AK for a raise/reraise-all in).

Re: NL 25 - QQ preflop question
When Villaim pushes, it's safe then to assume - with no reads, anyway - that this hand means AA, KK or AK all the time, and Hero is behind two of those three hands, making it a fold? At this level, will people play AKo, AQs or perhaps JJ or TT this way?
FWIW, Hero folds and Villain shows AA. I think the real debate here, though, is that at PartyPoker, at the $25NL game, will this 'always' mean AA, KK or AKs? What have others experienced? |

[/ QUOTE ] Against AKo, you are still a coinflip so adding that to his range doesn't help. Adding JJ to his range and you are still a dog overall. Add TT and you are about even money. If you _know_ he will push with worse hands, then by all means call. Most won't. |

Re: NL 25 - QQ preflop question
I fold, but it's a little closer than it would be at a higher level. I see JJ and AQ enough here to throw that into the mix for his range, but not enough to make a call profitable in the long run.

Re: NL 25 - QQ preflop question
One final question: sub in KK sted QQ for Hero's hand. Is that an auto call every single time? I'm guessing so, but I'll let others chime in ...
