Hitting TP on the turn vs a maniac
Another hand from a session review.
MP2 villain is a near-maniac, with something like 64/30 preflop and an amazingly low folding percentage postflop. He's folding out a lot of opponents post-flop with his aggression. We've seen howdown of several total junk hands already, but still he doesn't seem a total idiot, just likes the gamble and the fight for who has the biggest balls. Party Poker 1.00/2.00 Hold'em (9 handed) link Preflop: fabadam is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP3 raises, 1 folds, fabadam 3-bets, 2 folds, MP3 calls. An autonatic c-bet for me, even if I know the dude won't fold, or maybe especially so. Assume villain is a LAG, but not a totally random one. If that's too vague, just tell me what you do here. |

Re: Hitting TP on the turn vs a maniac
By the description of villan it sounds like a bluff at the third club is very likely.
So I raise here, for value. The A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] makes for a very useful backup in case he does have a real hand. I think I'm just calling a 3-bet and c/c river on non club. But then, what does he check/call the flop with however? This seems a little strange for someone as aggressive as you describe. Is it possible he had a genuine draw here? (either clubs or 9T) If so I'm probably taking the same line I said before, but I'm not as sure why. |

LOL, my name is Frans. (Honest)
FWIW, I called here, fearing a flush or slowplayed set. River was a brick, checked to me and I bet now, villain called, showing down Q7o. |
