GET OUT THE BIRFDAY CAKE, TIME FOR A 10K POST ABOUT EMO STUFF

One year ago today I was:

-21 years old and some change
-extremely depressed and unhappy at the University of Chicago doing my MA in a program I wasn’t as interested in as I thought I would be
-doing long distance with my girlfriend in Montreal
-generally lost and life-tilting
-a crappy OOT poster
-playing 5/10 limit on a 6k bankroll

Eight months ago today I:

-moved back to Montreal, dropping out of my MA program to live with my girlfriend and her roommates, jobless with no prospects besides poker
-generally lost with low self-esteem after the Chicago experience
-played donkaments with some success (had a 10k weekend) and 10/20 limit

This summer I:
-worked 9-5 at a job I wasn’t really happy with, biding my time while I got my [censored] together
-posted WAY too much in BBV
-played approx. 15 hours a week of poker, mostly 15/30-30/60 six-max and tons of donkaments…ended up making 120k+ in one summer even with taking most of August off
-got seriously back into music, something I am very passionate about and ended up singing as a soloist in a paid venue at the Montreal Jazz Fest
-did a much more manageable long distance with my gf in Toronto
-reconnected with friends and family after isolating myself at University of Chicago

Now I am:
-22 years old
-rich (by normal standards for people my age, not BBV baller standards)
-the happiest I have ever been in my life
-living with my awesome girlfriend on the millionth floor of a downtown high-rise in Toronto
-working a kickass job that pays well and keeps me interested with lots of growth potential
-playing some poker but focusing more on the things that matter, like friends, family and making connections with people and playing music
-testing the waters at NL 2/4 and 3/6, with a few donkaments and some limit to change it up
-rocking it in BBV with the BBV crew

If this trend continues….I should be king of Canada in about 3 years.

Seriously, BBV rules and you guys have been strangely a big part of my life keeping me sane at work during the times this summer I wanted to quit. Keep rockin’ it and don’t let the man get you down.
