OnGame\'s (Pokerroom) 5K buyin online/live event
Sorry if this has been covered, but what's the status of the $5,000-buyin event that Pokerroom/FCP et al. were planning on doing in early November? I think the final 45 players were supposed to go to Barcelona to play out the end of the tournament in person.
Is Ongame still taking US action? Is this tournament kaput? |

Info is all here .It's now a $100k added, $5k buyin tournament. Also, US players ARE allowed to play. If you've qualified and don't want to play, you can get a refund as long as you ask before october 29th.

Re: OnGame\'s (Pokerroom) 5K buyin online/live event
Hello poker players,
We would like to address the comments on this thread and inform everyone about the status of the Ongame Network Poker Classic. Due to the new Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in the United States being signed into law, we changed the format of the tournament to a $100,000-Added $5,000+200 buy-in deep stack tournament which starts online on November 4 and plays down to 45 players before pausing. Ongame Network will then pay for flights and hotel for those 45 to travel to Spain and resume the tournament (with the same chip stacks) in the Gran Casino de Barcelona on December 2-3. The built-in overlay is about $350,000. Information on why we made these changes can be read here. All players who qualified for the Online Final before October 17 have an option to redeem their tickets for $5,200 in their accounts. It was only fair to offer players this option after changing the tournament format. Information on ticket refunds can be read here. While we are offering refunds, all players who qualify will be allowed to play in the online and live events. This does include US resident players. If you are American and you win your way to the money, we will make sure you are paid responsibly through a legal method. We regret that the US Legislation forced us to make these changes, but we believe the ONPC is still a compelling event. Professional players who hate travelling to a live event can now make it to the money online, and then play for the money live. Direct buy-ins and online registrations are available starting today. As well, we have LOTS of qualifiers running. We'd love to see some of you take down some pots. If you want further information, you can check the official ONPC website http://www.ongameclassic.com or blog. Thanks, and we hope to see you on the tables. Best Regards, The ONPC team |

Can we deposit money in our accounts still if we want to buy-in direct?

Re: OnGame\'s (Pokerroom) 5K buyin online/live event
The handling of this tournament by the OnGame network has been disgusting. From moving the tourny back 3 months, to canceling the guarentee, it has been beyond gross. It just shows how poorly run the network is.
I hope this is more then just a red flag and it compels other players to leave the network to move to the well-run networks like PokerStars. |
