Default Conversation with a termite exterminator(long)

I was eating breakfast about to head out for school. Then the door bell rang. It was an exterminator. We are currently selling our home so about a week prior we had someone inspect our house for the buyer. He found termites in the back door of the house. The exterminator was going to replace the door(I didnt know they did that).

I let him in and the conversation begins. Stuff in Italics are thoughts or actions. G = George(me), B = Bob(that was his name).

I am watching him work
B: So no job or school or nothing?
G: I go to college, most of my classes are late.
B: So when are you moving?
I couldnt hear him too well and replied with I am moving to Arizona.
B: I said when are you moving?
G: Sorry, in about 2 weeks.
B: My brother lived in Arizona, he worked as a correctional officer. Its really hot over there.
G: Yeah, but property is cheaper.
B: So why are you watching me work? You looking to take my job?
I cant help, but think of the goobacks episode of South Park.
G: No.
B: So what are you studying in college?
G: I am studying to be a math teacher.
B: Whats the point in that? All you can do is teach. All you will ever do is teach more teachers. Whats the point?
G: Well I dont really know, I just want to get a degree in something and want to get a job. Dont really know what I want to do with my life at this point, just want to get a degree and start to work somewhere.
I suck, I cant believe I just said that.
B: See there is no point in becoming a teacher.
G: Well at least its a math degree not a politics degree which is a joke degree.
B: Only rich kids get degrees in politics. They dont want to get a real job. They get involved in politics and work their way up.
G: I guess.
He is about to use a power tool on the door.
B: You want to do this while I do something else?
G: No, I wouldnt know how to do it, I am going to screw it up. I dont trust my manual skills.
B: You need to get some better manual skills because in the real world you will need them.
G: Yeah.
Bob works on the door some more.
B: So who bought this house from you guys? A Mexican family?
G: No, an African American trucker put in the offer. He had perfect credit.
Did I just say African American, WTF? Did I just mention how he had perfect credit, WTF?
B: Good for him.
Bob works on the door some more.
B: So why are you leaving?
G: Property in Arizona is cheaper and the association of town house owners here is very corrupt. The dues are way too high and I dont know where most of it goes. No one goes to meetings, so the guys in charge are stealing money like crazy. Something about the head of the association driving around in his sports car all the time while our dues keep going up that really pisses me off.
B: Isnt that just jealousy?
G: Well jealousy that I didnt think about it before him.
B: Thats true and you know people like him never get sent to prison.
G: Thats true.
Bob makes sure the door can lock.
B: You dont have direction in your life you will end up like one of those people that are professional students. Like those rich kids that never want to work.
G: I doubt it, I dont like school enough for that.
B: I havent completely finished I will be back tomorrow to finish the door.
Bob is headed for his car and is about to leave.
B: You will probably move to Arizona and meet a nice Mexican girl and drop out of school.
WTF?

So am I a wuss because I wasnt more confrontational and was kind of whatever about what he kept saying? He seemed like a nice person. He is coming back tomorrow. Should I say something or just continue my "whatever who cares what he says" ways?

Assuming you guys advice I say something. What should I say? Also what does OOT think of the whole conversation?

Cliff Notes: Exterminator took a couple of verbal shots at me and I am wondering if I should just let it go or say something.

He was kind of fat. Also "who gives a [censored]" would eliminate like 90% of the posts in OOT.

Still I like the pic, good reply.

Why were you just standing there watching him? That's, uh, really annoying, to say the least.

I meant it as, he kills bugs for a living, seems like a racist, and has a complex about people better off than he is. Who gives a [censored] what he says and/or thinks?

Meh, let it go. He probably just wanted you to leave him alone while he worked.`

The door is in the Kitchen. We have a TV in the kitchen. I could see that tv and sort of watch him. He was working on the door with tools, like right outside of it. I could still see him and we could still talk.

Dude this guy's not smart. And he's blue-collared on top of that. Just ignore his opinions until you think of something really funny to say to him that he won't get.

he sounds like an interesting person to me. if anything i would just probe him more next time just to see what i could get out of him. maybe i am just more interested in the human experience than most.

regarding his 'insults', maybe i am just thick skinned but i would have just assumed he was being playful(unless its very obvious he was being malicious in which case i'd just avoid confrontation , which doesn't seem to be the case this time)
