Never seen the movie. How is the end different? (Wikipedia just says that Rudy sacks the QB. In the youtube link, Rudy gets half a sack.

The movie wasn't meant to depict actual game footage... that's not what movies are about. What they wanted you to feel was how AWESOME it was not for the crowd or the school but for RUDY himself. You have to dramatize in that situation and I think they did a damn fine job. I love Rudy.

The name of the opposing team's quaterback coincidentally was Rudy Allen.

Rudy's name wasn't actually Rudy. His last name was Ruediger so everyone called him Rudy.

The Rudy we're talking about is a nickname for Dan Ruettiger. I guess the QB's real name must have been Rudy.
