Default Official College Football Week 8 Rankings Thread

I'll get things started

1. Ohio State (7-0) – Impressive victory over Michigan St. Easily the #1 team in the country until someone knocks them off.

2. Michigan (7-0) – This one is obvious after today. Can’t wait for Nov. 18th, basically as close to a playoff game as College Football is going to get.

3. West Virginia (6-0) – Continuing to dominate an unimpressive schedule, but this team still has enough talent to be ranked this high. Louisville, Pitt, and Rutgers game still to come will determine how good WVU really is.

4. USC (6-0) – Keeps managing to squeek out victories against an unimpressive schedule. I don’t see any way they get through 3 straight weeks of Oregon, Cal, and Notre Dame.

5. Auburn (6-1) – Big time win against Florida to bounce back from a loss proves Auburn still belongs at the top.

6. Florida (6-1) – Still a great team despite the loss, should coast easily to 11-1.

7. Cal (6-1) – Washington State becomes the first team to play within 20 points of Cal since their opening game loss. That loss is really a shame as Cal dominates Tennessee if they play next week IMO, and in reality Cal is prob one of the 5 best teams in the country.

8. Tennessee (5-1) – Tennessee has some big tests coming up against Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas. I’m not completely convinced this team is that good yet and see them dropping a couple of those games.

9. Texas (6-1) – Another team I’m really not convinced about yet, but they’re here basically by default. Should be a good game with Nebraska next week.

10. Louisville (6-0) – Did they really only beat Cincy by 6 today? Undefeated but not for long.

11. Notre Dame (5-1)
12. LSU (5-2)
13. Oregon (5-1)
14. Clemson (6-1)
15. Georgia Tech (5-1)
16. Nebraska (6-1)
17. Arkansas (5-1)
18. Rutgers (6-0)
19. Wisconsin (6-1)
20. Boise State (6-0)
21. Oklahoma (4-2)
22. Iowa (5-2)
23. Texas A&M (6-1)
24. Missouri (6-1)
25. Boston College (5-1)

Rankings seem fine to me. Am I totally off in saying that the level of talent this year in college football isn't close to what it was last year?

And you are lucky your opponents have no idea about clock management. I am not sure what is worse: punting with 1:20 left to go or not getting a play off with about a minute to prepare like Washington did last week.

LOL wtf? "Unimpressive schedule"??

They destroyed Arkansas and Nebraska - both ranked in the top 25 and also played a good Washington team.

QFT.

And Notre Dame should not be top 10 or top 15 or top 20.

And having WVU at 3 while Louisville is at 10 makes no sense.

USC's played a fine schedule, it's just that they haven't won by as much as top 3 team should.

In what way should Ark. not be 17? I think they could be higher, actually.

Predictor hates Arkansas. After you look at their resume, including a 1 point win over Bama and a 2 point win over Vandy, it's not hard to figure out why. 1 win over Auburn compared to a very underwhelming rest of the season.
