Default A new weapon to be used sparingly.

NL $100

Villain is a 20/11/2.7 tag

One of the stats I have up on PAHUD is how often a player raises the flop. This I hope helps with the range of hands they will raise with. He raises the flop 20% which is quite high.

all fold to Hero in SB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero raises to $4.5, BB calls $4.5

Flop $8.5
A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Hero bets $7, BB raises to $14, Hero considers for 10 secs or so, Hero re-raises to $45

Very bad idea on a drawing flop because he often has the draw and calls. Much better to do in position on a dry flop.

My "feel" during the hand was that I really expected him to raise my CB whatever flopped but bet it anyway. When he did raise I strongly felt that he was FOS and whilst he might have a draw and a slight chance of an ace the chances were he had either air or something that could not take any heat. But as I was looking at queen high I either put him to a decision for all his chips (cause he has to feel with the 3 bet that he is playing for stacks) or I fold.

This is the first time I have ever made this move but it did seem kind of right at the time.

I think at these lower level stakes its more profitable to be picking off villians who c-bet too much, than to be picking off people who are bluffing your c-bets. I just wonder if over the long run how +ev it is to be putting in half your stack on the flop with nothing.

Perfectly good points. And no, picking off bluff raises is not needed in any way at my stakes. I have to admit as "correct" as it felt I would not even have considered it had I not been running sick bad for so long. It was a tilt hand.

I don't dislike this that much against a TAG who is frequently minraising my cbets. You will need to be doing this with your good hands also, naturally. I also prefer to be in position when this happens (usually against a blind who min checkraises my cbet - this is often simply out of annoyance though).
