Giving an Argument Speech tomorrow
This speech is for my Argumentation and Debate class. It is an 8-10 minute speech and I am considering doing it on the topic of online gambling. Here is the model of what my speech should follow. If anyone has any tips or places where I should go for information I would appreciate it.
1. Topicality -Does the proposition address a real problem? -Does the solution address the actual problem? 2. Significance -Is there a crisis? -Must the problem be solved now? -What areas of society does it impact? 3. Inherency -What is the cause of the problem? -What must be done to solve the problem? -What is the proposal? 4. Workability -Does the solution work, at least in theory? -What potential impact will the solution have? -What are the arguments that favor the proposal? 5. Plan-Meet-Need -Has the solution worked somewhere? -Is there model legislation? -Does it solve or has it solved the problem? 6. Disadvantages -What opposing arguments have been made? -What potential problems exist? -Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages? -What is the response to opposing arguments? |
