Default Virus problem

There's some sort of virus problem on this site, so those of you without Antivirus software, I suggest you run this to plug the epxloit for the viruses in IE

I suggest you get installed a good freeware antivirus software package installed. ZoneAlarm seems to be doing the trick. http://www.zonealarm.com/

I'll try and find a fix to those already with it, but for now if anyone knows one, please post details and a link here.

I think maybe I've been infected because I've had the sniffles and a stuffy head all day.

ZoneAlarm is not an antivirus package, it is a firewall. You still need run some antivirus software as well as a firewall!!!

Please heed this warning.

diebitter,

Sorry I can't help you with free anti-virus software. I agree that Zonelabs is probably the best start for a free personal firewall.

As far as anti-virus software is concerned I suggest NOD32 from eset about USD30 per year I think.

But has a trial version which may do what you want (post infection check) for a month or so.

Trend Micro. Firewall and virus protection. Also runs a web client using Java where you can check for infections while online if you can't be arsed to install the software.

And I'll bear the grimaces when I say to toss IE and get Firefox.

Without a shadow of a doubt. Firefox is a lot more secure.
