Default A river CR

I rarely CR the river. Did I choose a decent spot try one?

This is the 2nd orbit of my 2nd session of 3/6, so I don't have any reads.

I wasn't sure what to make of MPs small bet on the turn. I decided to just call and reevaluate on the river.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $6 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

MP ($1367.70)
CO ($1639.15)
Button ($773.40)
SB ($555)
Hero ($927)
UTG ($260.15)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to $18</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $54</font>, MP calls $36.

Flop: ($111) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $60</font>, MP calls $60.

Turn: ($231) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP bets $84</font>, Hero calls $84.

River: ($399) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP bets $324</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $729</font>

I would raise more preflop and bet more on the flop

And the board is so draw heavy I think you should bet the turn again, then checkraise the river.

I don't know what I was thinking with that flop bet, must have thought I was playing 2/4.

I would usually bet the turn since the board is so drawy. Since missed draws are such a big portion of his range (and two pair or a set of K/Q is definitely going to bet the river) I think going for the check-raise on the river is fine.

I think that's a good CR there on the river. The way you played it he would bet almost any hand on the river because you played your hand like you had a busted draw.

I would make it about $85-$115 on the flop though. Checking turn to CR river is good.
