Poker Quotes
Post the poker quote which you've read that has had the most impact on your growth as a poker player.
Note I'm looking for quotes that affect growth and that help you play from books or other articles (or it could be something you've heard), not stupid movie quotes or something you got from Phil Hellmuth watching the WPT unless you can talk about how it has helped your play. Citations also please. |

Re: Poker Quotes
Off the top of my head I like Phil Gordon's line in LGB: "You need a better hand to call a raise with, than to raise with" or something like that. It basically explains the gap concept (which I believe came from Sklansky).
That made me think more about my preflop hand selection and how to not have my hand dominated. |

Re: Poker Quotes
I can't think of the quote. But form NLTP the idea that in a cash game you goal is to stack you opponent. I was thinking in terms of winiing the pot.
