If we set up weight classes, I say gorilla. But full grown gorilla (360 lb) vs a full grown black bear (880 lb) and you have gorilla for dinner.

some bears are small, but even the small ones are brutal.

Interesting bear fact - I was told when walking around the wilds of Montana that my Dad liked to put solid points shells in whatever firearms he had. - the logic being if we encountered a bear, our best bet was a headshot, and those hollow points were known to splatter on a bear's skull and shread the forehead but not penetrate the skull, resulting in a pissed bear.

so solid point shells when bear hunting - aim for the skull -
