5/10. TStone vs. Al Krux
Early in the session
Al has ~$3500. Hero covers. Preface: Al is playing really tight as far as I can tell. He is a higly skilled player and I have not seen him call a river bet with a losing hand in the 3 hours we have played... actually I don't think he has seen many rivers... If he has a leak as far as I can tell (which is not very far FWIW) it is that he gives up value in terms of not floating enoughmaking enough plays or by checking behind instead of making thin value bets when they probably would be profitable I have played 3 hands with him so far. All have been multiway and I have potted the flop and taken down the hand each of the 3 times. I have not shown a hand down. But I potted the flop against a set of aces (who smooth called) and then check/folded the turn in a hand about 10 minutes ago. again this is my early read and I am not sure how correct it is but it is what I was going on. 5/10 blinds. 20 bring in. Hero in SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Al limps UTG. 2 limpers in MP. Hero limps in SB. BB folds. Flop ($90) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero leads for $90. Al calls. All fold. My read (for better or worse) is that Al is floating here with 2 overs Turn ($270) K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checks. Al bets $300. Hero calls. I believe that Al was going to pot any turn after I checked to him River ($870) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero bets $500... |

Re: 5/10. TStone vs. Al Krux
How did you randomly make a read that he's floating with overs after your overall read on Al was that his leak is not floating with overs? I lead the turn since you said he doesn't float and checks behind a lot. Once he bets, I'm raising. Why the hell did you check anyway?

Re: 5/10. TStone vs. Al Krux
I really dislike the turn and river play. I lead the turn for about 230.

It was made because the only three times I was in a hand against him so far I had potted the flop OOP and taken the hand down. Also, if he was paying attention (i dont know if he was,) he would have seen me pot a flop OOP 10 mins ago and check/fold the turn. Just because I believed that he tended to play a certain way did not mean that I believed that he was not mixing up his play on this hand. Also, I make no claims that my general player reads were correct nor do I claim that my hand specific reads were correct but they were the information that I was going on. To the poster that suggested CRing the turn (as played) to $1000... why would I do that? I think he will fold KQ etc every time that I made a play like that as he was not looking to put himself in a tight spot for all of his chips. As played... any suggestions for the river if I think he will check behind a weak K if he spiked one? Also, I apologize for my sloppy OP... It was made after arriving home from the game after a long session and I clearly did not proofread it. |

Re: 5/10. TStone vs. Al Krux
You think he wont call a turn c/r with KQ, but will call a river lead on such a scary card? I dont think he is going to value bet KQ here, but he might bluff at it....

Re: 5/10. TStone vs. Al Krux
look at TBGs hands (prolly in archives) vs krux. bottomline is TBG owns him, and krux is not hard to own
