Default Dealing with the popular draw c/r

There are few plays, aside from the ol' limp-raise aces, that give away your hand so easily as when you c/r your drawing hands from OOP. I'm not saying it's not a valuable tactic, but I'm pretty new to ring games and already seeing it waaay too often.

It's a great move if you think your opponent missed the flop. However, since my range of hands is much wider than a typical TAG I often find myself facing a c/r on the flop with a piece of the flop. What's the best move here? How often do you see a c/r from a hand that beats you?

50NL

Stack sizes:
Villian: $50.00
Hero: $50.00

Pre-flop: Hero is CO with 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
lots of folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $2</font>, 2 folds,<font color="#cc0000">Villian calls</font>

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($4.25, 2 players)
Villian checks, <font color="#cc0000">Hero bets $3</font>, Villian raises to $9, <font color="#cc0000">Hero ...</font>

You don't know if he's drawing or not and every friggan card that comes on the turn is a scare card, then you have to call another bet, and then again on the river maybe. If you re-raise (it would have to be a lot) and in that case youd either be uber-[censored] for a huge pot or win a small one. Fold.

What hands do you think a typical villian would play here like this?

Sets, overpairs, top pair hands such as A9, K9 maybe even, flush/straight combo draws are also possible. We have middle pair, no kicker. We can find a better spot.

I would fold for the reasons stated above.

If villain is abusing this tactic, and you had a better hand, i would call and bet the turn if he checks; if he bets a decent amount, then fold

If villian has a set/overpair/TP here, does he really go for the c/r on a flop like this? I think if I posted a hand history in this forum where I was villian with a set here and didn't lead out on this flop I'd see a lot of responses telling me to "lead out the flop dummy".

I was thinking that the majority of the time you're looking at a draw trying to take down the pot, and you can take the pot from them by an aggressive raise. Glad I posted this, as I had planned on trying to take pots from villians in these situations.
