Call 2 bets with 104....flop two pair.

I could show a million examples of some idiot doing some stupid [censored] and hitting. Someone decides to cap 109s from the BB with a raiser, CC and a 3 better, he [censored] caps, and rivers the nut straight. It's always the same bs.

A few days ago, I cap AA pf, some idiot on tilt 3 bet 99, and 2 other idiots enter. Flop was something like 872r, blank turn, river was some blank putting 2 clubs on the board. All the while, me and the idiot tilter cap flop and turn, another club on the river and the [censored] donks, showing KQs. He peeled the [censored] FLOP WITH KQ. WOW. CAPPED FLOP 4 WAYS. LOL. 35BB pot. 700 dollars more that should be in my account. Sweet. Play like an idiot and win.

Yeah, I have been compiling this [censored] [censored] while playing(down like 800 at this [censored] joke table, 400 hands worth, [censored] me to tears!!!!!!!). Here's another sweet hand that just happened.

Okay, not really that bad. Thought it was funny though.

SORRY JUST FRUSTRATED AS [censored]. HAVEN'T PLAYED POKER FOR 'THAT' LONG, LESS THAN A YEAR, ONLY PLAYED ABOUT 12K HANDS OF 10/20, SLIGHTLY OVER EVEN I BELIEVE. I JUST DON'T GET IT. MAYBE IT'S A BAD RUN. BUT WHENEVER I SIT AT A TABLE FOR LIKE 400 HANDS IT'S LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE.

I don't get it. I don't get it. Don't reply if this post bothered you. Just pissed. Hella pissed. How is online poker beatable? That's my main question. How the [censored] is poker beatable. Why am I doing this.

Well you posted in the wrong forum to whine about bad beats. In case you want constructive analysis of your play, here's some:

Hands #1 and #2 are fine calldowns if your read is that villain is very aggressive at taking shots defending his blinds or that he specifically attacks broadway-x-x boards. That said, this is a thin calldown and you have to realize that your opponent almost always has 6 live outs against you even when you are ahead. Edit: Just looked at the Hand 2 action again after reading Miles' reply. You played it horribly, and were fortunate that your opponent played equally badly. What were you going to do if he 3bet the turn? Fold and let an overaggro donk bluff you off the best hand at that time with QT? Call down and lose to 98? This hand is an example where you played very poorly. You can choose to focus on the fact that your opponent played even more poorly and got lucky, but I think that is not in your best interest.

Hand #3 looks good, though the flop peel is thin at best. You caught a great card on the turn but unfortunately didn't catch good on the river. That happens.

Hand #4 looks like a spew to me. Your hand is not *that* strong on that board and yet you are creating a big pot with it that is going to tie people in with overcards and draws. A check/raise there is fine some of the time -- it has value because you are ahead a fair amount of the time and you have good equity when behind. Indeed, if the button 3bets and it drives out the SBs 8x, that in itself is a nice result. An alternate line would be to call the flop and reassess after seeing the turn card.

When you cap the flop, you are behind most of the time. (In fact, in this hand you were technically "behind" since villain will win about 51% of the time here.) You are just really asking to punish yourself when the villain has a big hand like 98, JT, AA, etc. By this point the pot is big enough that you need to at least see the river and often see a showdown.

You often can't control whether you are going to win or lose a given pot. All you can do is to decide what are the options that will work out best for you in the long term. If you want to continue focusing on how unlucky you got, I suspect you will be a marginal winner at best long-term. If you instead focus on how to make the best decisions at all times -- regardless of how badly the other players may play at times and how badly the deck treats you at times -- then you can expect to have excellent results in due time.

Hmm. Appreciate the responses. Had to vent. I know this post was posted in the wrong forum. So be it.

First off, I was NOT on tilt during any of these hands. Next, these hands are NOT at all representative of how I normally play. I changed my username from the hands, but I can assure you that I am normally one of the tighest players at 10/20(maybe I shouldn't be proud of that). I guarantee you that anyone that actually pays attention to the game could guarantee that. My won at showdown is about 65, wtsd about 33.

Anyways, sometimes you just get the feeling like opponent's are on air. Hand 2 certainly looked like it. I knew posting this thread that it looked ugly(it is ugly, lol). Seriously, these villians were all nuts(as I'm sure you are convinced I am), and I had a hunch, combined with board tecture, and previous knowledge of how the villian would normally play the hand, which comes every now and then, allowing for light calldowns. Somewhat like the HU 500/1000 limit hand that was posted where the board read QQ66x, and 44 called 33s river bet. It was probably a mis-read board by the 44, but you never know. Sometimes...sometimes. Just my take...

If you read through the posts on this forum, you'll start to see why this is *not* an optimal approach to shorthanded limit hold 'em. No doubt you can be a winner playing in this way, but you can be a bigger winner by improving your hand reading and understanding of poker concepts which will consequently allow you to make more calldowns in the right spots.

To be honest, hands #1 and #2 show that your thinking is maturing and that you are trying to adapt to how other players are playing against you. (Perhaps the reason that so many players make these crazy plays against you is because you fold so much.) However, you still need to refine your adaptation.

The second hand is a prime example of this. Raising the flop and the turn are not advisable, because you reopen the betting which will allow the villain to 3bet his big hands or put more pressure on you if he continues his bluff. You will have little idea of what his bluffing frequency is there and will often make bad decisions. If he reraises with a hand like TT you are in a real no win spot; the pot is now bloated that the correct play is to call and try to catch an A or a Q, but you have ended up investing 3 BB on the turn when way behind. Your light calldown in this hand looks like a good read; your raises on the flop and turn were bad strategy (even though they worked favorably for you on this hand).

Looks to me like your opponents have pretty goods reads on you; particularly hand #2. Maybe you need to change gears during a session. You can't just run over everybody cuz you gots an A.
