Default 14 of 1200 left in $20K FT guarantee -- resteal with A 10?

Sorry -- no hand history (is there a site that converts Full Tilt?). And this is not a BBV post - I really want input on what to do here.

14 of 1200 left in $20K Full Tilt guarantee. I have 86K and am in about 8th in chips.

Blinds are 3K/6K - 750 ante.
Folded to chip-leader who has 297K.
He raises to 18K in the cutoff.
Button folds.
I have 86K and am in the small blind with Ah Tc
BB has 196K behind.

I pushed - BB folded and the chipleader called with 55 and I lost the race.

Standard?
Fold and wait for a better spot?
Don't battle chip leader?
Thoughts?

Do not post results, your post should end with "I pushed"

And this is basically dependent on whether he has been making a lot of raises in LP when it's folded to him. If so, the push is fine. Even if he does it somewhat often, it's still probably the right move. Only if he's been suqeaky tight should you fold this.

Sorry -- need to read the FAQ closer! Thanks for the posting tip.

I hadn't played with him long and he has just won a big hand to become chip leader.

My only move here is push or fold, right? I don't think anything else makes sense... He had definitely not been squeaky tight.

I'd usually pull the trigger here as well.

If you were the BB calling might be OK but from the SB you want to shut out the BB so pushing is a much better option.

With AT in this spot it's more of a value reraise, not as much re-steal...

1) Push
2) Do not post results
3) Do not lose the race...

Your M is under 6 & ATo is a good enough hand to make a stand with. You were a ~45/55 dog with antes & blinds overlay, so the odds were about right. Also, since these events start with T1,500, there are 1.8M chips in play. You need to accumulate to go deeper. Pretty easy push IMO as I'd include worse Ax in villian's steal range. However, I believe your FE here is very low as villian will still have ~200K if he loses. Tough break.

Yes. It sucks that you have very rarely have fold equity because of the odds that villain is getting to call and because he's not going to want people to think that they can resteal on future hands but you are ahead of villain's range, generally by a fair margin.

Obviously the part that I need to work on the most!

OK - I didn't feel that bad about it afterwards (although of course I was ticked that I didn't win)... thanks for confirming that this is a pretty easy push here.

Push. He's the big stack raising from the CO. I probably push 42o if I have seen him make open-raises in LP at all lately.

Nevermind the 42 part. You are probably getting called too much here to do that. I was thinking your M was closer to 10-11, not 4-5. Push for value against his raising range instead.
