Villian is like 21/15, I've seen him at a few of my tables tonight. Seems like he's a bit weak and folds too much.
Party 5/10 Hero has A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Button (Villian) open raises, SB folds, Hero calls. Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks, <font color="red">Villian bets, Hero raises</font>, Villian calls. Standard c/r, right? Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="red">Hero bets, Villian raises</font>, Hero calls. Oops. Should I just dump here? River: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero checks, <font color="red">Villian bets</font>, Hero... Getting 9:1, do I face a bluff 10% of the time? |

hmm
what's his steal % ? if it's under 40 i'm just laying down preflop. i think the flop check raise is not good on this board because you get a call down out of AT+ too often, even if the guy seems weak. i don't think you can fold the turn. you could only fold there if you check folded but then that gives him 0 chance to fold Ax/KJ/KT/etc. easy river fold though. |

Preflop: I call here too.
FLOP: I never check/raise here with your specific hand becuz you will never get a better hand to fold on this specific board. If I had 65, this would be a standard flop checkraise for me. With your hand I would check/call the flop, check/call the turn, and against a good tag, Check/fold the river unimproved, against a lag, I would check/call the river unimproved. TURN: Given that you checkraised the flop, this street is close. I dont think it matters that much what you do. RIVER: Check/fold time. Edit: If im against an opponent who wont bet the turn with King high/Queen high/Jack high...etc, then I would checkraise the flop, but most people fire again with these hands on this specific board. |

Strangely enough, the flop checkraise is mostly for value. Well, if it's a good play, that is. I'm not sure about it.
I probably call the turn raise, although we can't fully trust our A outs. On the river, I guess I grudgingly dump it. If Villain has T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and semibluff-raised the turn following the flop checkraise, then he outplayed me. |

I fold preflop because I don't like playing OOP with ace rag.

So Nick is the only one that comes close to a river call?

you're never splitting with an A because he wont bet the river with just an A.
you said he seems weak and like he folds too much. i just dont see this guy bluff raising the turn and betting the river very often. also someone mentioned the diamond semibluff, that just got there anyway. |

OK, well, results.
I was actually button here with A6, some hand like that. I figured he'd be folding a lot of hands on the turn here, including better A's and PP's. When he called, I thought I was in trouble, but thinking about his range (never a Q or a 2, and never a K unless its a bizarre AK), I couldn't come up with a single hand a TAG could call a river bet with. Even something like 77 is going to have a really tough time finding a call here. What's everyone think? |
