Default Looking for Jazz and Blues recommendations

Just started getting into both but I'm not very knowledgeable about either. I was hoping for some album recommendations, thanks.

Well I love pretty much all of the Miles Davis I have heard, so the trumpet for one. The stand up bass as well. For Blues, the guitar and harmonica come to mind.

Despite people often grouping the two together, they are two completely different genres. Anything that you've heard so far that you like? I'm not a fan of jazz so I can't speak on that. Regarding blues, however, Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy would be good starting points. Also, Jimi Hendrix's Blues album is quite good.

Why not have both, I suggest:
John Mayall Jazz Blues Fusion

Also The Keith Jarrett Trio: Whisper Not

You probably don't need any other records, this should do it.

I STRONGLY recommend a NYC blues trio called The Holmes Brothers. Their best albums are (in my order of preference) In the Spirit, Where It's At, Jubilation, Promised Land. Also their best-of, "Righteous," is a good start.

Very rootsy blues with some gospel and country influences. Nobody who likes blues can dislike this band.

Definitely look for some Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters. Howlin' Wolf has one of the coolest blues voices, and he's damn good with the harmonica too. He's my favorite, Muddy Waters my second favorite.

I also like a lot of Louis Armstrong.

I just got that Hendrix album, which is one of the reasons I got into blues. Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Led Zeppelin are two other reasons. I've heard some Albert King that I really like but I don't have any albums.

I'll check out Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy, can you recommend any specific albums? I prefer getting the originals as opposed to "best of" compilations.
