Default treo 650: need some advice

So I just bought one of these bad boys through Cingular - what apps should I get?

Also, what is the advantage to bitching to Cingular to get it unlocked? ie what can I do with an unlocked phone I can't do with the one I have now.

Thanks.

I have to use this phone for work, it's pretty damn ackward as far as installing software, etc. Sure, it looks cool, but, damnit, where did I put that headset again...

please do me a huge favour and thank me later. return the treo 650 and get something else. you have within 30 days to return the phone. i used to work customer service for cingular (have recently been promoted woot) and the treo 650 has a lot of issues. in due time it will start crashing on you, the programs will lock up, you will drop calls and experience poor reception (and blame cingular). i wish this device would be pulled off the market. =/

1. Switch carriers to Verizon...
2. Get this

3. Upgrade to Windows Mobile 5.

of the PDA phones that Cingular supports, what would you recommend? I am still within the 30 day period.

Read the forums at treocentral.com. There are favorite app type threads in the "suggested threads" sticky of the 650 forum.

Mine has been totally stable (not even so much as a reset or freeze up) for well over a year. I did have issues when I first got it and was installing/uninstalling all kinds of apps and launchers and whatnot.

i absolutely love my cingular 2125 (got it for $50 after rebate).

no qwerty keyboard, but i care about receiving email much more than i care about sending it. and sending really isn't bad with t9 input.
