Party and Stars 3/6 6-max rake in BB/100

Little strategy here, so feel free to move to Internet if you want mods, but this concerns 6-max players and has been talked about a lot lately.

With all the new VIP programs it seems helpful to know the rake in BB/100 at both sites, so I logged (*cough* datamined *cough*) some hands at Party this week to compare to my Stars rake numbers. Here's what I found for 3/6 6-max:

Party: 2.88 BB/100
Stars: 2.43 BB/100.

This means Party's rake is 19% higher. With the new Stars VIP program (equivalent to maybe 5% rakeback), this would put Party at 25% higher.

I thought this was interesting. I didn't realize the difference was so large. Something to consider when looking at winrates from different sites.

Depending on the volume you play, the Stars VIP program can be worth MUCH more than 5% RB.

I should note I calculated these numbers using the 'Summary' tab, which is why they seem so high.

The summary tab will actually make it seem lower than if you were to calculate it from an RB point of view. However, it is completely accurate from a BB/100 point of view.

The summary tab shows how much rake has been taken out of pots that you have won, so that is exactly how much the rake has cost you. If you do it from the game notes tab, that calculates is based on everyone having an equal share in the rake of each hand. Someone who plays less hands then (ie. TAGs) will contribute less rake than actually shows up in this tab.

I had made this table . This was before Party increased the rake in September which affected a lot the 5/10 6-max game. It's a good reminder to update it.

Wow that is an eye opener. I just wish I could move up to 2/4. I'm not ready yet. However the rake at 1/2 is killing me.

This is technically a zoo topic, but it's more than relevant to 6 max players. People have worked out that Stars VIP is worth up to 13-15% rakeback when you hit the highest levels, but since you're not getting cash, the utility of their rewards is lower than that, depending on how much you want the stuff they're offering.

Yeah I agree with that. I understand that they dont want to give out cash but they could atleast start a limit tournament that you can buy into.
