Re: Big draw
Grim,
Ton of different ways to play the flop/turn here. With a hand like this, it doesn't really matter. On the river, though, I really like an overbet here the way you played it. |

Re: Big draw
Grim, or T-Hawk which I prefer from our old empire days (this is PMP btw)
this hand seems pretty standard grim...but with no reads, do you believe opponent calls river bet of 1k with AQ, or AK? I would prefer to bet less or bet more personally. |

Re: Big draw
either pot raise the flop and check behind the turn (or shove, whatever) or minraise the flop and bet the turn. end of story.

Re: Big draw
Diablo,
Its strange, but games on different sites seem to play differently. I would be looking to push here on UB. On Party, my overbets have gotten called 0% of the time. The way it was played, Id probably bet 3/4 the pot. |

Re: Big draw
i only call on the flop vs players i know i can take the hand away from post flop.
i think your flop raise is not big enough. he will call. you don't mind taking it there, and you while you would love to hit and win a big hand, a raise of $350 into this pot is not going to win it often enough. your have a big draw, but you are still a dog to make your hand, i put him to more of a test here. the turn is ok, it can go either way. i mostly check, but vs a weak tight opponent i bet a good amount, i assume he will fold one pair (AQ, AK, AJ, etc). on the river i like your bet, i probably even bet more. i like to get paid on my big hands and i hate to see in the hand history that the fool had a set and was waiting for me to bet the turn so he could move in. i bet more when i make the nuts (or a big hand) and figure that the hands i get paid for more then pay vs when my opponents fold. plus if he folds the next time you make another big river bet someone at the table is more likely to call. |
