Best Tortilla Chips (nomination thread)
So, I am munching on some Chipotle tortilla chips, and I gotta say, these may be the best tortilla chips that you can buy. In my opinion, they have the best salt + lime + awesome crispyness that is what a good tortilla chip should be. Dipping these chips in guacamole is about the best flavor combination possible.
I also enjoy the tortilla chips you get at Chili's, although no lime on the chips brings them down a bit. OOT, nominate your favorite tortilla chip, whether it is store bought (Tostitos, etc.) or from a restaurant (Chili's, Chipotle, etc.) and then we can crown an official OOT tortilla chip champion. |

The chips they serve at just about any half-decent Mexican place are better than Chipotle's, IMO. Also, Chipotle's chips used to be different when they first opened up around here - more similar to the thin, fried restaurant-style chips than they are now (though they're still pretty good).

kipin,
I like the tortilla chips that are a little thicker and crunchier that get served at cheap-ass Mexican places. Generally these are on the darker side and have a light sheen of grease on them. |

Some have none and some are completely coated in it. I'm also not a huge fan of lime. |

I like Tostitos Gold. Real Mexican restaurant chips are good too, but we don't have much of that here.
