Folding a turned set... 10-25 UB
Villian is MSUfinest or something - he's around a lot but I have previously thought he was a donk Heads up. I think he's a winner, generally fairly LAG but not our of control.
3200 effective. He raises cutoff 85 and I call in SB with 44, heads up to the flop of 2 7 Q (2 diamonds). I decide to pot lead like 190 and he calls. Turn is a 4 of diamonds and I bet out 370. He calls. River is a blank 3. I check, he insta pots, I fold. 3 flush on board, possibility of him having 77 and QQ and I can't see a double float after i lead twice... I dont know, ugly? |

Re: Folding a turned set... 10-25 UB
The way he played it, he could have a one pair hand (AA/KK/AQ), so I call.

Does everyone like the river check? [/ QUOTE ] No, block-bet. As played I call, but I'm in the I-don't-lay-down-sets-without-a-really-good-[censored]-reason camp. Kirk |

Block the river, as played I kind of like the fold actually.

Re: Folding a turned set... 10-25 UB
I call the river bet. It looks like villain has an overpair with a diamond or some pair with diamond draw on the turn.
Leading river for more than half pot is not a bad option either. |

Re: Folding a turned set... 10-25 UB
Does anyone like check calling both turn and river here? I am not a huge fan of leading out OOP into a flush possibile board

Re: Folding a turned set... 10-25 UB
call 100%. LAGs will value bet very thin here, especially if you've shown a willingness to call light. you could easily have something like 88 or 67 and he's value betting a Q+. pretty common dynamic, if not reality w/you in particular it is at least a strong possibility in his mind. even tho this board kind of sucks for a thin v-bet and it's only marginally possible that he is bluffing (call flop with overs or AT-type hands to steal when you check; pick up flush draw on turn, call again with position, etc.), call anyway! you win 33% for sure!
