Default KJo, weird line of course

I'm not sure why I refuse to toe the line, but here's a weird hand vs an unknown donkbet.

---

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
Hero raises, 2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB bets, BB folds, Hero calls, Button folds.

Turn: (5 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

River: (7 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises (intending to fold)

---

Thought process (condensed version):

F: Calling due to a combo of fear and greed.

T: Not sure if I can raise here. Comments on the turn please?

R: This card makes my hand worse.

I dont see why you dont raise the turn, that nine seems like a pretty innocent card on this board. SB is probably donking the flop with a weaker king or maybe a flush draw. Why not see where you stand in the hand and put a raise in on the flop or turn?

PS: I dont play 5/10, my thinking is strictly 1/2

This line is great in an over aggro game like the 20/40 or 30/60 games. If your opponent is more likely to have a pair and less likely to have air than raising the turn is best, as is often the case in the more passive 5/10 games.

eep! 5/10 passive?

Yeah, I think what you say here makes a lot of sense, because I don't want the river to be check/called.

Or c/f'd. Seriously, raise the turn just about always here.

If I'm going to raise in this hand it's the turn but I probably wouldn't raise.

That's a very easy river fold for a weaker King but there really aren't a lot of weaker Kings on that board.

I don't understand, what board would be more likely for a weaker king?

One that doesn't contain the alphabet of weaker kicker pairing cards.

Ok, so let's just shoot a few here:

1) paired boards

2) maybe ones with lower board cards, i.e. k3825?

Do those qualify?

If they do, I'm still curious:

How much does it change my equity when the board is K3825 vs K3879?

eDIT: but yeah, that makes sense. Also, I'm a little concerned about 2pr hands like 98, etc.

If you think he's capable of calling with a worse hand it's fine. Lots of people are that stupid.
There are very few people who are stupid enough (or smart enough) to 3bet this river with a worse hand.
But they are out there.

The bottom line for me is that against a reasonable 5/10 player there are just too few worse hands that can call this river raise.
