Default Whats the answer to this riddle?

You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed. On your right side is a sharp drop off, and on your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you. Directly in front of you is a galloping kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it. Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the Kangaroo. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

You wait for the Merry-go-round to come to a stop.

i don't get why this is a dangerous situation...

you are running at the same speed as all the other animals, the only danger is off to your right, so as long as you don't run right you are fine, although you will be endlessly riding a galloping horse...

what am i missing?

edit: apparently i didn't get it at all...i thought it was mroe of a logic puzzle than this kind of thing...

No they aren't. If they were, the merry-go-round would rip apart immediately. The ones on the outside must be traveling faster.

That depends on how you are measuring the speed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotational_velocity
