Wine Aficionado -- Quick Question
so finally returned home from Siricon Varrey and brought back a bottle of wine from a trip up to napa.
Had a delicious dinner and tried two different wines... Etude, Pinot Gris, Napa Valley (meh) Beringer, Viognier, Napa Valley (Delicious - waiter recommended) So after dinner I bought a bottle of the Beringer that was already chilled (they didn't have anymore room temp). I left it in my hotel fridge for a week and then flew back last night. Obviously it made it back up to room temp by the time I made it back to the apartment. I went ahead and threw it in the fridge and plan on drinking it tomorrow with Fast_Food_Knight and AEK. Is it going to be ok? I know beer goes skunk when it goes cold warm cold again. If its bad I'll dump it and find a store that hopefully sells it here in ATL. |

Re: Wine Aficionado -- Quick Question
if it's still sealed, temporary changes in temperature should do little to affect the quality of the wine within.
Dad keeps his stuff (>300 bottles) in our garage (no cellar) and they go through some fluctuation in temperature across the seasons, with no obvious effects. |

Wine does not tolerate heat well. What temp does the garage get to in summer? I'm seeing this as a very bad storage location. |

mrmon,
i was thinking the same thing. in pittsburgh, pa, with temps ranging from 95 to -10, a garage wouldnt work. |
