I was told by a wise person today, that these cars have nothing in common. What do you think?

the m3 is a racing car with a bmw body over it, the clk is a big mercedes with a better engine. That's basically it.

Re: CLK 63 AMG and BMW M3 - Much difference?
I was always partial to the M cars as they were more driver-friendly (read: manual transmission), sadly, this is no longer so. The Benz is more refined and, well, Benz-like, the M3 is more of a car you have to really want to drive; the ride can be somewhat rough and it's really damn loud. Disclaimer, I speak only on knowledge of the previous-generation M3s.

If you really like to drive (fast), but want to be as comfortable as possible while doing it, then get the M3. If you really like to be comfortable and have gadgets, but want to be able to go fast while doing it, then get the CLK. (FWIW, I own an M3 and a Mercedes E-class, and have owned other Benz's in the past (SLK230 when it first came out, etc), but I have not driven any CLK, let alone an AMG). |
